That approach carries across everything we do. At an event it might be a laugh shared between friends when they think no one is watching. On the street it could be a fading wall of graffiti or a stranger caught mid-thought. In sport it is the intensity that flashes across a face in the middle of the game. In documentary work it is the story that reveals itself slowly, frame by frame. Different subjects, but always the same intent: stay present, pay attention and let the truth of the moment carry itself.

Why It Matters
Photography for us is not about chasing trends or showing off technical tricks. It is about honesty, patience and curiosity. That is also why we sometimes choose analogue film, whether 35mm, 120 or 127, because those formats demand slowing down, accepting imperfection and letting the process shape the outcome. The limitations of film often bring out more truth than unlimited digital frames ever could.

Meet the Team
Chaplain & Co. Photography is not a big studio. It’s me, and sometimes a little creative inspiration from my daughter Bow, who is already showing an interest in cameras. The “& Co.” is a nod to her and to the people who support and collaborate with me along the way, including family, friends, and other photographers who share the same love of storytelling.
Most of the time it’s a one-person operation built on a genuine interest in film and digital photography and a commitment to capturing moments honestly. Bow’s curiosity reminds me to keep that sense of discovery alive, to notice the small details, and to enjoy the process as much as the result.
When projects call for it, I work with trusted photographers and assistants who help ensure everything runs smoothly. They step in where needed, allowing me to stay focused on capturing the story while knowing the practical side is covered.
